Maine
In the northernmost and easternmost part of New England lies the state of Maine. Maine became the 23rd state on March 15, 1820. It borders New Hampshire, Canada, the Gulf of Maine, and the Atlantic Ocean. The Port of Portland and Searsport, two of the top 150 largest ports in the country, can be found in Maine, both prime locations for finding a Personal Injury Lawyer. Maine’s Moosehead Lake is the largest lake in New England. Maine is also home to the Old Sow, the western hemisphere’s largest tidal whirlpool. Maine bears the nickname, the Pine Tree State, because almost 90% of the state is forested. Maine’s state animal is the Moose, and the state cat is the Maine Coon Cat.
